Placing A Deposit for a Puppy

Seen a puppy for sale, or a mama who’s expecting? A deposit is $500 and non-refundable. It goes towards the purchase price of your puppy. You can place a deposit now for a present or future puppy. If for a future puppy, and there are not enough puppies born for you or not one that you like, you have your choice as soon as they are born on whether or not you would like your deposit transferred to a following litter, or even a different breed puppy. You would need to make this decision right away so please be prepared when your puppies are born!

If you would like to send a deposit now, you can either use the PayPal link below or simply mail a check (my favorite). Email me & I will send you my address. Your check needs to be made out to me & my husband’s combined business “MC Ranch”. I will need your address, email & phone number for my records, (cell phone if you are planning to fly your puppy with my puppy nanny). I will email you as soon as I receive your deposit & place you next in line for choice in that litter/litters.

Make Sure You Read Our Info!

Choices are made when the puppies are born in the order of deposits received of course. You will see your first name and state on my web site on the deposit list for that litter of puppies. You can be on 2 mommy dog’s waiting lists with 1 deposit – the 2nd list as our back-up plan. I will keep my web site & you updated on the Mommy’s progress, birth, & LOTS of new photos of the little pups every two weeks as they grow. It is quite fun for you to watch them grow up with me!

The balance of the cost of your puppy can be paid when you come to get him/her. If you are planning on flying your new puppy with my nanny, the balance will be due when your pup is 6 weeks old. More about my puppy nannies below.

All deposits are non-refundable so be sure that you do want a puppy and don’t mind the wait before you place it. I have developed quite a rep over the years for breeding & raising my puppies the way they should be, (and I LOVE doing it!!!) so often there are quite a few people waiting. But that certainly doesn’t mean that you cannot get a puppy – just that you sometimes have to wait a little bit. I assure you that your puppy will be certainly worth your wait!!!  🙂

Choosing Your Puppy Waiting Lists

  •  Too help you choose your favorite puppy waiting lists I built a new web page to help describe the colors & markings of puppies to help folks understand them better. “Puppy Colors & Markings”

And occasionally, for some reason or another, I have a puppy that is not called for so it’s not a bad idea to keep an eye on my website & sign up for my newsletter!

Choosing Your New Puppy

I keep my website updated daily with news of when each litter is expected to be born, deposits already received on each litter,  photos of the puppies every two weeks with some of the pictures showing the girls & boys on blue / pink rugs to help you. images-4You can choose which pup that you want from the litter when they are born. That way we can start planning on which puppies will be available to whom and setting up flights with my puppy nanny if need be. Folks will make their choices in the order of the deposits received of course.  I put up TONS of pictures on the web site every 2 weeks as the puppies grow. They will have color coded collars on in their 6 week old photos. I will put girly color collars on the little girls and boyish color collars on the little boys. The darker colored collars will be on the larger sized puppies, with the lighter colored collars on the smaller puppies although many times there will be little to no size difference between two or more puppies. Take a look at their parents weights/sizes on their web pages to get an idea of their puppies’ sizes to be as adults. There will be many action photos in the 4 & 6 weeks puppy album to help you get a good feel of each puppys’ personalities. ALL my puppies will be very well socialized with many people, animals, other dogs of all sizes and ages, and have experienced MANY different environments by the time they are ready to come to you. I have never had a shy or poorly adjusted puppy here! And yes, there is a reason for that! And of course, you can always give me a call or email to ask questions about them. I am ALWAYS ready to brag on my babies! I can help you make your choice and match your lifestyle with the best breed puppy for you. After all, I have been with these puppies every day of their lives! Be sure to read all about The SDP Way of Breeding Puppies and especially The SDP Way of Raising Puppies.

Male vs Female puppy?

This can be a hard decision for some families! Your pet is going to be a member of your family for many years to come, so you want to get a pet that will fit into your lifestyle. As a pet owner who has always had both males and females (both intact, neutered, and spayed), I have written a whole page on the subject to help you with your decision! Male VS Female – Making Your Choice

What Comes with Your Sunny Day Puppy

We are proud that we have been raising extremely healthy puppies for a long time. Our policy is: My puppies have their natural dew claws and I never cut off any tails. All my puppies have their natural tails. I believe that if god gave them toes & tails, let them keep them! They need that wag – it is part of their smile & I will not take that away! Dog wagging tail Dogs use their dew claws for grip while climbing. Cutting off tails & claws has been another one of those “silly human customs” for so long that folks don’t even question why it is done. More on that subject here. My puppies are wormed at 2/4/6/8 weeks of age. They receive Ponazuril for coccidia prevention at 5 weeks of age and the day before they go to their new homes. This protects them from this opportunist infection for the next three weeks. After that, the puppy should not have a problem with this parasite. I feed “Earthborn Puppy Vantage” food for the first year. I recommend that you use “Earthborn Primitive Natural” after that & rotate recipes. If you want to use other brands, PLEASE use top quality brands. At 5 weeks of age they receive their 1st Parvo only 1/2 dose vaccination. At 7 weeks they receive 1st set of puppy shots.  My vaccination covers Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type2, Parainfluenza, & Parvovirus. Your puppy packet includes your puppy’s records & registration papers. I also include some FortiCal & a 6 day dose of Panacur for giardia prevention. Your puppy has not had symptoms of giardia but since they are raised playing on the real ground & grass here (instead of being raised in disinfect-able cages) they are exposed. And just in case you have not purchased (in your haste to come get your new little buddy) any puppy food, don’t worry, I will be giving you a small bag. I REQUIRE that everyone taking home one of my Puppies read my “New Puppy Care / Puppy’s First Day” and the linking pages. I will be testing you on the info there! I will be mailing you my favorite book “How to Raise a Puppy that You can Live With” sometime before your puppy is ready to come to you. I did a lot of research before I picked out this book and I think it is about the best book out there. Keep an eye out for it in your mailbox.

Flying Your Puppy?

Flying your puppy? No worries! I have flown puppies all over the U.S.A. without incident for years. I prepare them well!  I only use my Puppy Nannies. They are WONDERFUL!!  They are puppy loving and VERY skilled nannies. The puppies are carried on board in their lap, loved on & cuddled, taken to the bathroom for potty breaks on a potty pad, and cared for every step of the way! They have food, treats, cheweys, and water during their trip. (and of course toys to play with!)FlyingPup  The flight nanny fee is paid directly to my puppy nanny when she gives you your puppy at the airport. The flight/nanny cost for small breed puppies varies with the costs of the plane tickets. The puppies are ready to fly after 8 weeks old. I have more important details about the process here: Flying Your Puppy w My Puppy Flight or Ground Transport Nanny

Need Ground Transport for your New Puppy?

I know a reputable couple who offer ground transport to folks in the states. I will not allow my puppies to be picked up by any other company. They charge around 700-800. They pick up your puppy here and bring him/her directly to your door.  Your puppy may be on the road for 2-3 days on their route depending on the distance but they are well taken care of. If you would like to contact them:

My friend & flight nanny Michael also can often ground transport personally for the Eastern states. He is my favorite!

Coming here to Pick Up Your New Puppy?! I hope!!

cabin We have some local folks who have cabins available just a few minutes from here. They use them as rentals for folks to spend the night, weekend, week or whatever. They are very nice country folks and some of the old cabins are  pretty cool! Folks coming here to pick up their new puppy can stay in one if they like instead of some plain local hotel. We are pretty far out in the country so the next closest hotel is about 30 min from here in Jackson or Gallipolis. I am sure that it would be much appreciated and an adventure! They have some old antique furnishings, porches, all tucked into the trees, (NO neighbors!) and all that. Very clean & tidy. Everything there but the food. Little Amish stores around to get good food though.  🙂   I think they are around $100-150 or so per night. Bring the family and make it a trip to remember! This is not a picture of any of them and that is not my car!
